better
Events, Premium and the welcome steps, redone
- Events now shows the hunt that’s on as something you can play: a slot for every find that fills in as you go, the places to look, and which ones you’ve already checked.
- Events also shows what’s coming next (Christmas, Easter and summer, with their dates), which it used to leave out.
- Premium has a membership card with your @ on it. It’s pink and shiny once Premium is yours.
- Setting up a new page on a computer now shows the page coming together beside momo’s steps: your picture, your first link and your song pop in as you add them.
better
Gift links and template pages, redone
- Opening a gift link now shows a wrapped present (it opens once the gift is yours), the note from whoever sent it on a taped-up card, and buttons that match the rest of yen.bio.
- Template pages have the site’s menu and footer, and the preview shows momo while it opens instead of a black box.
- An invite link that no longer works says so with a little help from momo.
- Unsubscribing from the weekly stats email happens on a proper yen.bio page now.
better
A new vibe check, a friendlier locked page, and readable terms
- The vibe check starts with two name tags: write two @s, momo sits between them, and you get your score.
- The terms and privacy policy now look like the rest of yen.bio, with the menu at the top, a contents list that follows you down the page, and easier reading.
- The buttons at the bottom of the help center have their colour back.
- A private, friends-only or password page now greets visitors with a closed door in momo’s room, a sign on the handle saying why, and the way in right under it.
better
The home page opens faster
- The home page is about a quarter of the size it was: the try-it builder, the styles, the frames, the games and the other showcases further down now load as you scroll toward them, so the top of the page shows up sooner, especially on phones.
- Pages without name effects no longer download the styles for them.

october 26, 2026

fixed
Tidier momo’s shop, Spaces and insights on phones
- momo’s shop no longer cuts off the end of its intro on phones.
- Find your space shows one momo at the top instead of two stacked on each other.
- Insights no longer runs off the side of a phone screen when one of your links has a long name.
new
Everything we ship, on one page
- yen.bio/updates lists every change we’ve made, newest first and grouped by day, so you can see what’s new without signing in. Share a link to any one of them.
- The home page now shows the latest few as notes taped up in momo’s room, and the footer has more in it: what’s new, frames, try a look, and a link to say hi in the Discord.
better
Tighter privacy and safer sign-ins
- Logging in with Discord only joins an existing yen.bio account when Discord has verified the email on it. If yours isn’t verified yet, verify it in Discord (User Settings, My Account) and try again.
- Posts from private accounts no longer show up in link previews or quote cards for people who don’t follow them, and private, friends-only and password pages stay hidden everywhere, including the styles gallery.
- Mutes and bans in a Space now count in every room of the Space, not just its main chat.
- When the app sends you to your browser to connect Discord, the browser now asks before it signs you in.
- Ending a blackjack, mines, tower or hi-lo game with /stop now finishes it the way running out of time would (the dealer plays, or you cash out what you’ve won). Stopping a crash round gives every rider their bet back.
fixed
Chat cards and scheduled posts behave
- A Spotify song in a chat no longer crashes the chat the moment its card loads, and neither does one of momo’s game cards when the game gets posted again further down.
- Scheduling a post now lets you pick any time from a minute from now, wherever you are. Before, people in the Americas couldn’t schedule anything for the next few hours.
better
Smoother scrolling and less lag across the site
- Animations you’ve scrolled past now hold still until you scroll back to them, so long pages like the homepage do far less work and your battery lasts longer.
- Scrolling the homepage no longer hitches for a moment when you start and stop.
- Profiles with background parallax or a tilting card follow your mouse more smoothly.
- Resizing the live preview in the editor is smoother.
fixed
Crash runs smooth
- The crash rocket now climbs smoothly instead of stuttering, and the multiplier no longer jumps back and forth while you’re riding. Your cash-out amount ticks up in step with it.
better
The desktop app runs cooler in the background
- When the yen.bio app isn’t the window you’re using, its looping animations (decorations, badges, glows) pause, so your computer stays cooler and quieter. They pick up right where they were when you click back in.
fixed
Messages stay in their own channel
- Switching channels in a space could briefly show a message you’d just sent somewhere else, until you reopened the channel. Each channel now only shows its own messages.
better
Neon ring, Fire ring and Floating hearts redrawn
- Neon ring is now a glowing glass tube in your accent colour with a white-hot core, and it buzzes now and then like a real neon sign.
- Fire ring has real flames licking around your picture, each flickering at its own pace, with embers drifting off the top.
- Floating hearts are glossy and come in different sizes. Each one beats as they circle, with tiny sparkles in between.
better
Halo and Cat ears redrawn
- The Halo avatar decoration is now a glowing gold ring that sits above your head, with a soft shimmer and a few twinkles.
- Cat ears are redrawn with shading, pink inner ears and little fur tufts, still in your page’s second colour, and one ear twitches now and then.
better
A grander Crown decoration
- The Crown avatar decoration is redrawn: polished gold with pearl tips, a jewelled band of rubies and sapphires, a glint of light that sweeps across it, and a couple of twinkling sparkles.

october 25, 2026

fixed
Badge percentages skip banned accounts
- The "% of pages" under each badge no longer counts banned accounts, the same as the leaderboard.
fixed
Premium counts fixed
- The "% of pages" under the Premium badge now counts everyone with Premium, including Premium bought with crypto that is still running.
better
Snappier typing
- Letters show up in the message box a frame sooner, most noticeably in the desktop app: animated decorations hold still while you type and pick back up a moment after you stop.
new
Everyone’s in the Yen Space
- The official yen.bio Space now lives at yen.bio/space/yen, and every account is a member — new ones join when they sign up.
- It has its own yen wallpaper, and the site team are its admins.
better
Snappier voice answers
- Game night takes your spoken answer the moment it hears a choice, instead of waiting for you to pause first. Numbers wait a split second in case you’re still saying them.
better
Wear a crest from the chat menu
- In a Space with a crest, the ⋯ menu has “wear the crest” (and “take off the crest”), so you don’t have to dig through Space settings.
- The staff badge next to names on the feed is gone. Staff who are verified show the normal verified check.
new
Crest styles and eight new crest icons
- Space owners can pick a style for their crest: classic, solid, outline, glow, holo (a shimmering foil, like a rare card) or 8-bit. Each one shows in your crest’s own tag and colour before you pick it.
- Eight new crest icons: paw, dice, anchor, pumpkin, bat, butterfly, frog and pizza.
- The crest colour now works for every crest, including a tag with no icon.
better
A shinier gem crest
- The gem icon for group crests is redrawn as a proper cut gem, with a lit side, a shaded side and a glint across the middle, so it looks like a jewel instead of a flat wedge. Crests that already use it update on their own.
fixed
No more scrollbars on phones
- Pages, chats and lists on your phone (and in the phone apps) no longer show a desktop-style scrollbar. Just swipe: your phone shows its own thin indicator while you scroll, like any other app.
new
Four new games for game night
- Emoji guess: name the movie, show or game from a few emojis.
- Finish the phrase: “better late than…?” Shout the missing word.
- Riddle me this: what has keys but can’t open locks?
- Word scramble: unscramble the letters and say the word.
- The game picker is a tidy grid now, so every game fits on your phone’s screen.
better
Full-screen calls, and a quieter momo
- Calls can go full screen: tap the arrows in the corner of the call card for a big call screen, and again to shrink it back.
- momo no longer reads game questions out loud unless you ask it to (tap the speaker in the game). When it does, it uses your phone’s own natural voice instead of a squeaky one.
- On phones with a dashboard theme on, the yen.bio bar no longer shows at the top of home, and the bar on other screens no longer has a black strip across it.
fixed
Call fixes for the iPhone app
- Your microphone works again in calls and in game night voice answers on the iPhone app. It used to go silent when the phone’s call screen took over.
- The phone’s call screen and Recents show the name of the person you’re calling, not a jumble of letters and numbers.
- If you open yen.bio while someone is already calling you, the call shows who it is and their picture, instead of just “incoming call”.

october 24, 2026

better
More room on your phone
- The yen.bio bar across the top of the dashboard on phones is gone, so chats and pages get the whole screen. The menu and search are under “more” in the bottom tabs.
better
Calls in the iPhone app feel like phone calls
- yen.bio calls now show up in your iPhone’s call log (Phone → Recents). Tap one to call that person back.
- Fixed: calls to and from the iPhone app could end the moment they started.
- Incoming calls ring with the iPhone’s own call screen, even on the lock screen, and the green call pill and lock-screen controls work while you talk.
- Fixed: in the iPhone app the other side sometimes couldn’t hear you until a game started. Voice answers in game night also work during a call now, instead of saying the mic is blocked.
- Fixed: voice answers in game night said the mic was blocked in the iPhone app, or that the speech service wasn’t reachable in Brave. They now switch to listening on your device instead.
better
The phone apps look and move like real apps
- Your phone’s own font, frosted-glass tab and top bars, the screen’s name at the top with a back button, and tabs that switch in place. Tap the tab you’re on to jump back to the top.
- Pop-ups are sheets that rise from the bottom: drag one down to close it.
- On iPhone, swipe from the left edge to go back, and your unread count shows on the app icon. On Android, the bars follow Android’s own style.
- Fixed: signing in with Discord or a passkey in the iPhone app could keep bouncing between the sign-in page and your dashboard.
