Colors

The six palette colors and everything each one paints.

Where: Your look → Colors & fonts → Palette

Accent

Default: White

Your main color: name effects, glows, the picture glow and ring, link hover color (when the link has no brand color), the view-count tile on Bento, the spinning border on Identity, Solid links, dots and highlights. Desktop 98 uses it for window title bars (white becomes navy), Old Web for box headers (white becomes blue).

Works on: Every layout

Accent 2

Default: Grey

The second color in gradients: the Identity border, After Dark’s under-glow, the Bento view tile and the Gradient name effect (unless you pick a separate second color).

Works on: Every layout

Text

Default: Near white

Your name, headings and link titles.

Works on: Identity, After Dark, Spotlight, Bento, Editorial, Terminal, Old Web, Panel

Muted

Default: Grey

Secondary text: @username, bio on most layouts, details, labels. Old Web uses it for highlights.

Works on: Identity, After Dark, Spotlight, Bento, Editorial, Terminal, Old Web, Panel

Card

Default: Near black

The fill of cards and link buttons. How see-through it is depends on Cards & surfaces. Terminal uses it for the screen, Old Web for the page.

Works on: Identity, After Dark, Bento, Panel · partly Spotlight, Editorial, Terminal, Old Web

Border

Default: White

Card and link outlines, drawn at low strength so it stays subtle.

Works on: Identity, After Dark, Bento, Editorial, Panel · partly Spotlight

A few things have their own color setting and don’t follow the palette: Name color (Extras → Effects), each badge color, the background effect color, the cursor color, the visualizer colors and link icon colors.
