Discord status and Live Spotify

Showing your live Discord presence or what you’re listening to, server tags, lyrics and the Lanyard setup.

Where: Your info → Your links → Discord RPC

Setup

  1. 1In Discord, open Settings → Advanced and turn on Developer Mode.
  2. 2Right-click your name (long-press on a phone) and choose Copy User ID.
  3. 3Join the Lanyard Discord server with that same account. Lanyard is the free service that shares your presence; it only works for its members.
  4. 4Add a Discord RPC block and paste your ID.

Discord RPC mode

Shows your Discord picture, name, status dot (online, idle, do not disturb, offline), custom status, what you’re playing and how long for, what you’re listening to, and “last seen” while you’re offline.

Show server tag

On / Off

Default: On

The small server badge next to your name from Discord’s Server Tags, if you have one equipped. Clicking it shows the server’s name. Only in Discord RPC mode.

Works on: Identity, After Dark, Spotlight, Bento, Editorial, Panel

Live Spotify mode

Shows only the song you’re listening to on Spotify: cover, title, artist and a progress bar, over a softly moving backdrop made from the cover art. Nothing from Discord (name, status, games) is shown. Your Spotify must be connected to Discord, with “Display Spotify as your status” on.

Show lyrics

On / Off

Default: On

Shows the current line under the track, from lrclib.net (an open lyrics database). Not every song has synced lyrics. Also works in Discord RPC mode when the card is showing a song.

Works on: Identity, After Dark, Spotlight, Bento, Editorial · partly Panel

If it says “Presence unavailable”

  • You’re not in the Lanyard server, or joined with a different account.
  • The ID is wrong: it’s a long number, not your username.
  • Discord can take a minute to report a change.
