Usernames and aliases
Username rules, your free change, aliases and the 7-day hold.
Where: Settings → Account identity / Aliases
- Usernames are 2 to 32 characters: letters, numbers and underscores. Capitals don’t matter.
- A few names are reserved for the site itself (like admin, help, login and settings).
- You get one free username change in Settings.
- Aliases are extra @names that open your page. Free accounts get 1, Premium up to 5, and alias slots from the Shop add more. Swap which one is your main @ any time.
- A name you give up stays reserved for you for 7 days, then anyone can take it.
